ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHY

Born in Peru, my Pakistani family immigrated to Canada when I was very young. Since then, growing up just outside of Toronto has meant blending my cultures to find my balance, and spending my early twenties honing my craft.

My works are a channel to story-tell personal growth. To represent this, I have intentionally incorporated shapes similar to teeth, teeth from a mouthful of a story I’m sharing visually. Many of my pieces utilize abstract teeth shapes. My works are a vessel for contemplation, encouraging viewers to embrace change by challenging their existing perceptions and finding beauty in the fluidity of personal growth. In every painting, I seek to create not just visual compositions but a shared space for reflection for the viewer’s ever-changing self, to see the positive side in the difficulties of self-improvement. Coming from a line of artists, my biggest inspiration has been my grandfather, Askari Mian Irani, a distinguished and world-renowned painter based in Lahore, Pakistan. I’ve spent my early years mesmerized by his works and longed to create to carry his legacy.
